North East Combined Authority is seeking a Finance Manager to lead payroll, accounting and financial management across the organisation in a dynamic public sector environment. Reporting to the Head of Finance & Procurement, you will drive financial leadership, governance and performance, enabling strategic decision-making and delivering value for our local communities.

You will build strong, collaborative relationships and model integrity, inclusivity and continuous learning.

Our finance team is expanding and has an opportunity for a finance manager to join the team. This is an exciting new position and will play a pivotal role in strengthening the Service’s financial leadership, governance, and performance. This is more than a finance role; it's an opportunity to lead change and help shape the future of our organisation.

Reporting to the Head of Finance & Procurement, you will lead high-quality payroll, accountancy, and financial management services across the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated finance professional who thrives in a dynamic public-sector environment and enjoys building strong, collaborative relationships.

The postholder will represent the Service with professionalism and integrity, modelling excellent conduct, ethical practice, inclusivity, and organisational effectiveness. A uniform will be provided in line with the Service’s Dress and Appearance Policy.

Competitive Salary (Grade G/H: £39,862–£49,282)

Start on £39,862 while working toward qualification, progressing to £46,142 once qualified

Fully qualified applicants start at £46,142
