We are seeking a Finance Manager to join a reputable organisation based in Swindon. This role requires a professional with a strong background in accounting and finance to manage and oversee financial operations effectively.

Description

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the below;

Financial Reporting and Analysis
  • Prepare, review, and present monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow) to the Board.
  • Produce monthly variance analysis and commentary against budget and forecast.
  • Conduct monthly job costing analysis to monitor project profitability and efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain cashflow forecasts, with daily cash monitoring to manage working capital effectively.
  • Lead the annual budget preparation process, coordinating with department heads and the Board.
Financial Management and Controls
  • Oversee all day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable, receivable, banking, and reconciliations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial controls and checks to safeguard company assets.
  • Manage and mentor the finance team member, ensuring effective delegation and development.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing and related compliance.
  • Oversee preparation and submission of VAT returns and ensure full HMRC compliance across all taxes.
Systems and Process Improvement
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of IT and financial systems, streamlining processes and improving reporting efficiency.
  • Support the implementation of system automation and digital transformation initiatives within finance.
External and Statutory Compliance
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors to ensure statutory accounts are accurate and filed on time.
  • Ensure all Companies House filings are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Profile
  • A professional qualification in accounting or finance, such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
  • Proven experience in accounting and financial management within the industrial or manufacturing sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities to manage a team.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools.
