Description
The Finance Manager will be responsible for the below;
Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare, review, and present monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow) to the Board.
- Produce monthly variance analysis and commentary against budget and forecast.
- Conduct monthly job costing analysis to monitor project profitability and efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain cashflow forecasts, with daily cash monitoring to manage working capital effectively.
- Lead the annual budget preparation process, coordinating with department heads and the Board.
Financial Management and Controls
- Oversee all day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable, receivable, banking, and reconciliations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial controls and checks to safeguard company assets.
- Manage and mentor the finance team member, ensuring effective delegation and development.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing and related compliance.
- Oversee preparation and submission of VAT returns and ensure full HMRC compliance across all taxes.
Systems and Process Improvement
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of IT and financial systems, streamlining processes and improving reporting efficiency.
- Support the implementation of system automation and digital transformation initiatives within finance.
External and Statutory Compliance
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors to ensure statutory accounts are accurate and filed on time.
- Ensure all Companies House filings are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Profile
- A professional qualification in accounting or finance, such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
- Proven experience in accounting and financial management within the industrial or manufacturing sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities to manage a team.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools.
Job Offer
- Salary of £50,000 - £55,000
- 25 days holiday
- Employer contribution of 3% and employee contribution of 5% to pension scheme.
