Finance Manager - Temporary - Stockport - Up to £55,000
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Finance Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day financial operations of the business for a maternity cover. This role is to start immediately.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and financial reports for senior management.
- Oversee cash flow management, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Support year‑end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors and accountants.
- Maintain compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal controls.
- Process end‑to‑end monthly payroll accurately and on time.
- Ensure all statutory deductions (PAYE, NI, pension, etc.) are calculated and submitted correctly.
- Maintain and update payroll records, including employee benefits, bonuses, and leave.
- Liaise with HR on employee changes, new starters, and leavers.
- Reconcile payroll control accounts.
- Oversee the full sales ledger process, including raising invoices and maintaining accurate records.
- Monitor customer accounts and ensure timely collection of payments.
- Reconcile customer accounts and handle queries professionally.
- Oversee supplier invoices, approvals, and payments.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar accounting role.
- Ideally a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or qualified by experience (QBE). Strong knowledge of payroll, management accounts, and financial controls.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Available to start immediately for a temporary maternity cover.
