Job description
The Role:

We are recruiting for an experienced and highly capable Finance Manager to take full ownership of the UK finance function for a well-established and growing business. This is a truly hands-on role where the successful candidate will shape the organisation's financial performance, support strategic decisions, and play a key part in long‑term operational success.

Based in the company's UK office, you will manage all day‑to‑day accounting activities, produce comprehensive management accounts, and act as the finance lead for the senior leadership team. This is a permanent position offering stability, autonomy, and the opportunity to make a measurable impact within a respected organisation.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations and accruals
  • Full ownership of year‑end accounts, audit preparation, and statutory reporting
  • VAT returns (cash accounting basis)
  • Financial forecasting and risk analysis
  • Support with P11D processing
  • Developing and managing financial systems and procedures
  • Reviewing budgets against actuals and controlling income/expenditure
  • Ensuring compliance with taxation legislation
  • Preparing the annual budget, including cash flow, balance sheet and P&L
  • Full ownership of credit control and purchase ledger
  • Processing payments including BACS and foreign currency transactions
  • Bank reconciliations, posting cash received, and sales reconciliation
  • Managing the fixed asset register and depreciation
  • Preparing weekly and monthly sales analysis and ad‑hoc financial reports
  • Additional finance duties as required
Skills / Experience:
  • Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)
  • Strong all‑round accounting experience
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge
  • Experience with VAT and tax compliance
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office with advanced Excel skills
  • Experience using financial management systems (MS Dynamics; Sage 200 also beneficial)

Salary & Working Hours:
  • Competitive salary (dependent on experience)
  • Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm (negotiable)
  • Additional hours may be required during budgeting and annual audit periods
