The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join this ambitious owner‑managed business.

This is a pivotal role where you will work closely with the founders to strengthen financial leadership, introduce improved systems and controls, and provide the insight needed to support future expansion.

With the finance team currently at five people, the successful candidate will have the autonomy to shape the function, enhance reporting and drive process improvements across the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Leadership: Oversee all day‑to‑day finance activities, ensuring strong control, accuracy and best practice across the function.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Deliver clear, concise and timely management information, including forecasting, performance analysis and financial modelling.
  • Process & Systems Improvement: Introduce enhanced systems, processes and controls to support scalability and strengthen financial governance.
  • Business Partnering: Work closely with the owners to provide insight, challenge and guidance to support strategic decision‑making.
  • External Liaison: Manage the relationship with external accountants and reduce reliance through building stronger in‑house capability.
  • Team Development: Support and mentor the existing finance team, encouraging growth and continuous improvement.
Desirable Skills
  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong background in SME finance leadership or hands‑on management accounting.
  • Proven experience developing financial processes, systems and controls.
  • Ability to produce high‑quality reporting, forecasts and commercial analysis.
  • Confident communicator able to work closely with owner‑managers.
  • Proactive, improvement‑focused and comfortable working autonomously.
