Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role within a dynamic business environment ideally construction.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, with hands-on experience using accounting software such as Sage.

Responsibilities

  • Payments for subcontractors adhering to HMRC CIS.
  • Payments of proforma invoices.
  • Record keeping of expenses and allocation to project.
  • Preparation of VAT returns.
  • HMRC verification of subcontractors.
  • Completion of credit application forms and setting up accounts.
  • Preparation of payment and salary runs for approval by Directors.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting reconciliations.

An exciting opportunity to work for a respected and established construction company in beautiful offices within the South Downs National Park. We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to assist our Directors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, payments and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software, including Sage, as well as a strong background in financial management. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of financial control within the construction industry.

Responsibilities
  • Payments for Subcontractors- adhering to HMRC CIS.
  • Payments of proforma invoices.
  • Payment of Expenses - Record keeping of expenses and allocation to project.
  • VAT return
  • HMRC verification of subcontractors.
  • HMRC CIS reporting.
  • Subcontractor company insurances.
  • Completing credit applications forms and setting up accounts
  • Dealing with financial queries.
  • Dealing with financial queries from external companies.
  • Preparation of payment and salary runs for approval by Directors.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting reconciliations.
  • Manage sales and purchase deposits and maintain reconciliations.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and monthly postings.
  • Maintain accruals and prepayments.
  • Wages and PAYE reconciliations.
  • Preparation of budgets and cashflows.
Experience
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role within a dynamic business environment ideally construction.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, with hands-on experience using accounting software such as Sage.
