Overview

Artemis Human Capital are working with a client who are on the lookout for a commercially minded and hands-on Accountant to oversee daily financial operations in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Reporting to the Finance Director, this role combines finance responsibilities with operational improvement initiatives, offering exposure to strategic decision-making in a private equity-backed business.


Responsibilities


  • Prepare management accounts, oversee month-end processes, and manage compliance for VAT, payroll, and statutory reporting

  • Maintain and improve financial controls, ensuring accuracy in accounting records and reporting

  • Support budgeting, cashflow forecasting, and financial planning activities

  • Lead operational improvements including system upgrades, procurement optimisation, and project cost tracking

  • Collaborate across departments to enhance workflow efficiency and build data-driven performance reporting


Qualifications


  • Fully or part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent experience.

  • Solid understanding of finance operations in an SME or growing business environment.

  • Proven experience delivering systems or process improvements.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a commercial mindset.

  • Proficiency accounting software and financial reporting tools.
