Qualifications

  • Lead month-end close, management accounts and key reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate, reliable P&L and balance sheet reporting.
  • Ensure compliance and keep the business audit-ready.
  • Oversee budgeting and reforecasting cycles.
  • Build commercial models to explain performance and support decisions.
  • Manage cashflow, liquidity and working capital.

Finance Manager – Milton Keynes

£55‑£60k pa plus benefits

Our client, a rapidly expanding scale‑up business, has created a Finance Manager role to help them through their next period of growth. In this role, you will take full ownership of the finance function – from robust accounting and compliance to forecasting, commercial insight and cash management. You'll work closely with Operations, Sales, Marketing and Production, report directly to the executive team, and lead a small team. Open to candidates moving straight from practice.

Key Duties
  • Lead month‑end close, management accounts and key reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate, reliable P&L and balance sheet reporting
  • Ensure compliance and keep the business audit‑ready
  • Oversee budgeting and reforecasting cycles
  • Build commercial models to explain performance and support decisions
  • Partner with budget owners to improve cost control, margins and ROI
  • Manage VAT, Corporation Tax and all statutory submissions
  • Liaise with external accountants and advisers where required
  • Translate complex data into clear insights on unit economics, pricing, promotions and paybacks
  • Streamline processes and automate manual tasks
  • Manage cashflow, liquidity and working capital
  • Forecast funding needs and monitor FX exposure where relevant
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Recently qualified preferred; experience from a Big 4 firm is advantageous
