Finance Manager - Permanent £Competitive + Car Allowance + Benefits

We are hiring a Finance Manager for the LNER contract, managing all financial activities, reporting, and client relationships.

You’ll operate across dual period-ends (12 internal, 13 client-side), requiring strong systems knowledge and exceptional organisation.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you’ll be deep in the detail while maintaining a macro view of contract performance. Direct client contact and commercial partnership are central to this role.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
  • Lead month-end close for internal and client reporting cycles
  • Produce P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow forecasting
  • Deliver management accounts with detailed variance analysis and commentary
  • Monitor contract profitability and flag risks/opportunities
Forecasting & Analysis
  • Build robust forecasts and scenario models across the contract
  • Lead annual budgeting and provide rolling forecasts
  • Conduct deep-dive profitability analysis across revenue streams and cost centres
  • Support commercial discussions with financial insight
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Primary finance contact for LNER - build strong relationships with client counterpart
  • Present financial reports confidently to client and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate across operations, commercial, procurement, and supply chain teams
Systems & Improvement
  • Maintain accurate data in MS Dynamics 365/SAP
  • Identify process improvements and ensure robust financial controls
Essential Requirements
  • ACCA/CIMA qualified or final stages
  • Finance Manager or Controller experience in Manufacturing or FMCG
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
  • MS Dynamics 365/SAP experience highly desirable
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Client-facing and stakeholder experience with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across dual reporting cycles
  • Full UK driving licence
