Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Finance Manager to support the Matalan contract.

Based at Knowsley or Corby, this full-time permanent role runs Monday to Friday and ensures accurate financial reporting while providing commercial support to operations and customers. You'll work with the Finance Business Partner to deliver control, forecasting, analysis and challenge to drive performance and strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience leading finance in logistics or an operational environment.
• Strong management accounting, controls, forecasting and budgeting knowledge.
• Experience producing weekly flash reports, monthly P&Ls and operational reporting.
• Advanced Excel with experience in Oracle/Lucanet/Blackline or similar.
• CIMA/ACCA finalist or qualified by experience with stakeholder influence.

Responsibilities

• Own weekly and monthly management accounts for the Matalan contract with financial controls.
• Lead forecasting, budgeting and financial planning with variance analysis.
• Deliver financial insights to stakeholders to support operations and commercial decisions.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, revenue accruals and month-end processes.
• Support cost-benefit analysis and financial modelling for improvements.

Job description

Here at GXO, we're recruiting for a Finance Manager to support our Matalan contract, with the role able to be based at either Knowsley or Corby. This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, where you'll play a key role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting while providing commercial support to both operational teams and customers.

Working closely with the Finance Business Partner, operational leadership teams and customer stakeholders, you'll provide financial control, forecasting, analysis and challenge to support business performance and strategic decision-making.

What you'll do on a typical day:

• Take ownership of weekly and monthly management accounts for the Matalan contract, ensuring all reporting is accurate, timely and aligned with GXO financial controls
• Manage forecasting, budgeting and financial planning activities, providing detailed analysis of variances and proactive recommendations to improve financial performance
• Deliver meaningful financial insight to operational stakeholders, identifying trends, risks and opportunities to support operational and commercial decision-making
• Maintain robust financial controls through balance sheet reconciliations, revenue reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and monthly accounting processes
• Support continuous improvement projects through cost-benefit analysis, financial modelling and reporting, helping drive operational efficiencies and contract performance

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or similar finance leadership role within a logistics, distribution or operational environment
• Strong understanding of management accounting principles, financial controls, forecasting and budgeting processes
• Experience producing weekly flash reports, monthly P&Ls and operational financial reporting within a fast-paced business
• Advanced Excel capability and experience using financial systems such as Oracle, Lucanet, Blackline or similar platforms
• CIMA or ACCA finalist, newly qualified or qualified through relevant experience, with the confidence to challenge, influence and support operational stakeholders
