RG Consultancy are working closely with an excellent distribution company located in Huddersfield who are looking for a commercial part qualified or qualified finance manager to join them on a full time permanent basis. This role will be working closely with the wider finance team and report into the financial director.

The company are a fast-growing, £50m approx. turnover distribution business serving a diverse customer base across the UK and Europe. With a strong reputation for quality, service, and innovation, we are now seeking a commercially focused finance professional to help drive profitable growth and operational excellence.

Role Overview

The Commercial Finance Manager will play a key role in partnering with the leadership team to shape business strategy, improve financial performance, and enhance decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a strategic business partner to commercial, sales, and operations teams, providing financial analysis and insight to support decision-making.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Produce robust financial models to evaluate pricing strategies, margin improvement, and investment opportunities.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs), highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Support commercial negotiations with customers and suppliers, providing clear financial input and recommendations.
  • Drive improvements in financial reporting, systems, and processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Oversee month-end and management reporting, ensuring high-quality information for senior leadership.
  • Manage and develop a small finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Support working capital management, cashflow forecasting, and cost control initiatives.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and project support to the Finance Director and senior leadership team.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with strong post-qualification experience in a commercial finance or business partnering role.
