Job summary

Halliday Marx is recruiting a Finance Manager for a global investment client based in Central London. You will lead a team of Management Accountants, oversee month-end close, VAT compliance and statutory reporting.

The role requires ACCA/ACA qualification, strong technical accounting, advanced Excel, and a proactive, hands-on approach to drive process improvements and staff development within a collaborative finance function.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor and support a team of Management Accountants.
• Review team workloads and ensure deadlines are met.
• Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and performance reviews.
• Provide technical guidance and training to team members.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
• Review monthly management accounts prepared by the team.
• Ensure month-end reporting is completed accurately and on time.
• Provide in-depth quarterly reviews of all reconciliations.
• Review VAT returns prepared by the team prior to submission.
• Assist with VAT compliance across the portfolio of companies and LLPs.
• Support team with VAT-related queries.
• Review the preparation of annual statutory accounts from trial balance to final accounts.
• Review corporation tax computations and tax returns for all entities.
• Liaise with external auditors and respond to queries.
• Review audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Ensure audit queries are answered accurately within deadlines.
• Support maintenance of robust financial controls and reporting processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies across the team.

Requirements:

• Qualified accountant ACCA/ACA
• Strong accounting, bookkeeping and financial reporting skills, with advanced Excel knowledge.
• Experience reviewing management accounts, VAT returns, statutory accounts and audit deliverables.
• Experience reviewing corporation tax computations.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
