Job summary

Sellick Partnership is recruiting a Finance Manager for a 6-month+ interim contract in the Southwest. The role is hybrid, requiring on-site presence at least 3 days per week, with a focus on strategic financial leadership and robust financial planning across directorates.

You will lead financial forecasting, capital investment oversight, and delivery of the Medium-Term Financial Strategy while working with internal and external partners to support council initiatives.

Qualifications

• Professional Accountancy qualification.
• Recent Local Government experience.
• Ability to work on site in the Southwest at least 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership and expert advice to support robust decision-making and long-term financial sustainability.
• Lead finance business partnering across designated directorates, ensuring high-quality financial planning, monitoring, forecasting and performance management.
• Support the development and delivery of the Council's Medium-Term Financial Strategy.
• Lead financial input to major transformation programmes, service redesign, capital investment and strategic initiatives.
• Provide oversight and assurance for capital programmes, external funding, grants and investment activity.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners, representing the Finance Service in key committees, boards and partnership forums.

Finance Manager - Interim

Rate: 400 - 500 per day

Location: Southwest - hybrid working - minimum 3 days per week on site

Contract: 6 months +

Sellick Partnership is pleased to be supporting a Local Government organisation based in the Southwest, who are looking for an experienced Finance Manager for an initial 6 month contract.

This is a hybrid role - you will be required to work on site at least 3 days per week.

Key responsibilities of the Finance Manager will include:
