Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a finance professional in Folkestone to manage financial operations, including mentoring the Purchase and Sales Ledger function and leading month-end reconciliations. Responsibilities

  • Mentor and support the Purchase and Sales Ledger function.
  • Manage banking authorisations and customer credit checks.
  • Lead month-end reconciliations and prepare accurate statements.
  • Handle payroll processing and VAT submissions.
  • Contribute to ad hoc financial projects and improvements.

Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Mentor and support the Purchase and Sales Ledger function, fostering a growth-oriented and positive environment.
  • Manage banking authorisations, approvals, and customer credit checks.
  • Lead month-end reconciliations, prepare journals, and ensure accurate balance sheets.
  • Assist in producing clear and actionable monthly statements and performance reports.
  • Handle payroll processing, PAYE submissions, and pension reconciliations with care and confidentiality.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and support annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, customers, and suppliers.
  • Contribute to ad hoc financial projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel.
  • FMCG, Retail / stock experience.
  • Experience in 3PL.
  • The ideal candidate will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified; candidates will be considered if they are part qualified or qualified by experience.
