We are looking for a Finance Manager

Salary: £40,000 per annum

Location: Bridgwater, Somerset

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm

Permanent contract

JDR is recruiting for a Finance Manager to work with one of our clients in Bridgwater.

The role

As a Finance Manager you will oversee financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, cost control, and strategies that drive optimal financial performance. This role combines accounting expertise with strategic insight to maximise profitability, improve cash flow, and support business growth and meet the companies strategic goals.

Duties
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations including bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Manage credit control and cash collection, ensuring timely customer payments and effective debt management.
  • Monitor and forecast cashflow, providing regular updates to management on liquidity and working capital needs.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans aligned with company objectives.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and identify areas for cost optimisation and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate payroll processing, compliance with statutory deductions, and timely submission of related filings.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and all financial reporting requirements.
  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets.
  • Collaborate with Project, Sales, and Operations teams to monitor project costs, margins, and financial performance.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis, management commentary, and scenario planning to support strategic decision-making
About you
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with proven experience in performance management and cost optimisation.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Experience with ERP or accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial insights clearly.
