Job summary

MOD Defence Digital in Corsham, Wiltshire, is seeking a Finance Manager for an initial 6-month contract. The role covers planning, budgeting, forecasting, project accounting, governance, investment appraisal and reporting, with responsibility for recharging Digital Services to customer organisations.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA or ACA.
• FCF2 Financial Governance, Level 2.
• FCF4 In-Year Financial Management, Level 3.
• Strong financial planning, budgeting and forecasting experience.
• Experience of financial governance and assurance.
• Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to make effective decisions and deliver to tight deadlines.
• Experience working collaboratively across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver long-term financial planning submissions and the Annual Budgeting Cycle.
• Manage in-year budgets and forecasts, including monthly submissions and commentary.
• Ensure project accounts, asset delivery and inventory information are accurate, maintained and reconciled.
• Review business cases, financial accounting returns and finance processes.
• Ensure strong financial governance, compliance, Value for Money and affordability.
• Provide financial assurance and concurrence within delegated authority.
• Develop cost models to support industry bids and financial approvals.
• Develop recharging models for Digital Services.
• Work with Service Groups to develop and validate financial management information.
• Coordinate indirect billing and financial journals.
• Complete monthly reconciliations of recharging activity and supporting forecast reviews.
• Manage resources effectively and ensuring Value for Money.

Duration: 6 months initially

Rate: £600 per day (inside IR35)

Working hours: 37.5 hrs per week

The role will provide corporate finance support across planning, budgeting, forecasting, project accounting, financial governance, investment appraisal and reporting.

You will also support the financial recharging of Digital Services to customer organisations.
