We support Governments, Banks, NHS and 600+ regulated organisations across sectors in the UK to help people get to work on the things that matter, faster.

  • We’re one of the UK’s fastest growing tech companies, ranked by Sunday Times Scotland Fast50 2026 and part of Tech Nation’s Future Fifty 2024 cohort
  • We’re scaling sustainably, backed by external investment on a 10x plan with expectations to exceed £50m ARR in the coming four years
  • We’re purpose driven, ambitious and make an impact in the work we do which is underpinned by trust in our systems and infrastructure.
  • As we succeed, we share in our success across all levels and roles.

Here’s what you can expect from us, working as part of Amiqus:

Work alongside talented, supportive people in a collaborative, cross-functional environment Competitive salary & share options – grow your career as we grow Quarterly in-person meetups and team events to celebrate wins and shape what’s next Private health cover with Vitality, plus a range of insurance benefits for peace of mind 34 days annual leave – because rest matters 5% matched pension contribution Enhanced family leave and real support when returning to work

The role

We’re looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to join us as we scale. Working closely with our Finance Director, you’ll own the day-to-day running of finance at Amiqus – payroll, invoicing, collections, reconciliations and month-end and help build the processes, controls and reporting that will carry us through the next stage of growth.

This is a broad and varied role where your work will be visible across the business. If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, improving how things are done and being a trusted partner to team members and leadership, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing
  • Payroll: own monthly payroll end to end, including pension auto-enrolment, benefits, starters and leavers, and P11D/PSA reporting, working with the People team to keep it accurate and on time
  • Invoicing and credit control: manage customer invoicing and billing, chase overdue payments and keep debtor days in good shape
  • Accounts payable: process supplier invoices, run payment runs and manage expenses
  • Reconciliations and month-end: own bank, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, accruals and prepayments, and deliver a timely, accurate month-end close
  • Reporting: prepare monthly management accounts and KPI packs for the Finance Director, leadership team and board
  • Compliance: prepare and submit VAT returns and support year-end, statutory accounts and audit preparation
  • Budgeting and forecasting: support the annual budget, re-forecasts and cash flow forecasting, and partner with budget holders to track spend
  • SaaS metrics: help track and report on revenue and subscription metrics such as ARR, MRR and churn, working with our commercial teams
  • Investor and grant support: assist with R&D tax credit claims, share scheme administration and investor reporting as needed
  • Systems and process: improve and automate our finance processes, controls and tools so they scale with the business
  • Business partnering: be the go-to finance contact for colleagues across the business, answering queries and helping teams understand their numbers
What we’re looking for:

You’re at your best in a dynamic, high-growth setting, where you can bring structure and focus to several concurrent priorities. Someone who’s previously worked in a start-up, scale-up or tech environment would probably thrive most in this role. You’re comfortable being hands-on with the detail while keeping an eye on the bigger picture, and you enjoy finding better, simpler ways of doing things. You’re a clear communicator who can explain the numbers to non-finance colleagues, and you take real ownership of getting things right.

In addition, we’re looking for:

  • A part or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS/ACA or equivalent)
  • Solid experience in a finance role covering payroll, invoicing, accounts payable/receivable and reconciliations
  • Experience running or contributing to a month-end close and preparing management accounts
  • Working knowledge of UK payroll, PAYE, pensions and VAT
  • Strong Google Sheets skills and confidence with cloud accounting software
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Based in Edinburgh, or close enough to travel into our Edinburgh office a few days a week
It would also be advantageous if you have:
  • Experience in a start-up, scale-up or tech/SaaS business
  • Familiarity with SaaS revenue recognition and subscription metrics
  • Experience with Xero, Hubspot, spend management and expenses tools
  • Exposure to R&D tax credits, share option schemes or audit preparation
  • Experience improving or automating finance processes and systems

This is a fast-growing, scale-up environment – not a large scale corporation. Things move quickly. Whilst we have structure and excellent people – you’ll need to be able to deliver and implement things directly so we’re looking for someone who’s energised by making change, having specific impact and scaling themselves as we grow on our 10x plan.

Please note: our events happen all over the UK, travel will be required.

We think it’s important to have an open and transparent process. The process might vary slightly depending on role and level but here’s what to expect:

  • An initial conversation with a member of the People team
  • Interview with our Finance Director and one other senior team member
  • References and background checks followed by role offer

Diverse perspectives and people of all backgrounds are welcome at Amiqus. We recognise that building an inclusive workplace requires proactivity and commitment. We acknowledge our moral and legal responsibilities to promote equal opportunities and pursue equality in our work.

If we can make preparations to make sure you have a positive interview experience, please let us know.

As you might expect, we care about privacy and we have a privacy policy specific for job applicants which explains how we handle your information and data.
