Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar finance leadership role.
• Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 and Sage Payroll.
• Excellent communicator who can explain finance to non-finance colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and maintaining weekly cash flow and rolling financial forecasts.

Skills

Accountancy qualification (CIMA or ACCA preferred)

5 years' experience in a finance leadership role

Advanced Excel skills

Our client, a well-established independent business based in Cheltenham, is growing its team and looking for an experienced Finance Manager to take the lead on financial operations and guide a small, dedicated Finance Team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading and mentoring the Finance Team in their daily activities.
• Overseeing month-end management reports and reconciliation schedules.
• Managing weekly bank reconciliations>
• Preparing and maintaining weekly cash flow and rolling financial forecasts.
• Conducting monthly reconciliations in line with FCA regulations.
• Reviewing FCA compliance tasks for accuracy and completeness.
• Liaising with auditors to ensure robust financial controls.
• Administering monthly payroll via Sage Payroll.
• Coordinating annual budgets and supporting business planning.
• Managing credit control and insurance payment accounts.

About You

• A recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA or ACCA preferred).
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar finance leadership role.
• Strong working knowledge of Sage 50 and Sage Payroll.
• Confident with financial accounts, cash flow, and P&L forecasting.
• Advanced Excel skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Knowledge of FCA rules on client monies (advantageous).
• Excellent communicator who can explain finance to non-finance colleagues.
• Organised, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities with ease.
• A natural problem solver with a high level of financial integrity.
