Job description

We are supporting an Academy Trust in Bradford to recruit a Finance Manager on a 9‑12 month fixed‑term contract basis. This role is paying £32,500 – £35,500 FTE per annum. The post is term time only, plus 20 days.

An Academy Trust in Bradford that supports c500 pupils with an aim to provide a wide range of learning opportunities to promote children to become independent.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the full financial management for the Academy, ensuring procedures are adhered to.
  • Support with the production of monthly management accounts.
  • Produce monthly variance analysis.
  • Line management of two staff.
  • Provide sound financial administration to the Academy.
  • Manage the processing of orders, invoices and payment for goods and services.
  • Ensure purchase order and invoice related queries are dealt with.
  • Obtain quotes for goods and services inline with the Trust's tender process.
  • Manage petty cash and cheques.
  • Process cashbook payments.
  • Check monthly payroll reports and report any discrepancies.
  • Complete payroll returns.
Qualifications
  • CCAB, CIMA/CGMA, AAT qualified will all be considered.
  • Financial management experience for an organisation is essential.
  • Previous experience liaising with budget holders, providing advice where required.
  • A track record processing orders and invoices is essential.
  • Ability to review financial transactions.
  • Previous line management of a small team.
  • Use of Sage accounting package is desirable.
  • Previous experience working in a School or Academy setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to be onsite in Bradford when required.
Remuneration & Conditions
  • £32,500 – £35,500 per annum.
  • Term time only, plus 20 days.
  • 37 hours per week.
  • 9‑12 month fixed‑term contract.
  • Parking on‑site.
