This post is for a **Finance Intern** to work within the engineering function in Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) in **Bristol**. BDUK is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company and currently employs over 1,200 people in the UK. BDUK is responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK defence customers including E-7 AEW&C, P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, C4ISR Services, and Through Life Support for the Chinook & Apache Fleets, Logistic Information Services and Training Services.The successful candidate will join the BDUK Financial Analysis team or BDUK Overhead and Rates team, responsible for providing the Overhead & General & Administrative (G&A), reporting and performance measurement to support the portfolio of BDUK Business areas. The nature of the role will mean there is a broad overview of the BDUK Business Areas, both programmatically and functionally and therefore providing an ideal opportunity for first experience in industry.**Position Responsibilities**:Financial Operations (Fin Ops): This team manage the financial performance reporting of our contracts, estimating and forecasting costs to complete on our long-term contracts, managing risks and opportunities with program managers and other disciplines. Tasks in this team will include:* Supporting control account managers across Boeing.* Liaising with Project Managers and wider teams to capture forecast inputs to the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) monthly forecast process for assigned contracts.* Provision of reporting to PMs / FP&A to explain variances against prior forecast and plan for assigned contacts.* Collation of the Estimate at Complete (EAC) inputs to determine expected profitability of assigned contracts upon completionOverhead and Rates: Operate as a Business partner to the key functional areas of the BDUK business, supporting with the collation of Overhead labour and opex monthly forecasts, tracking of actuals against forecast and budget and supporting with variance analysis to understand key drivers of deviations to both forecast and budget.* Production of the monthly reports detailing status on overhead and General& Administrative recovery, variations to budget in labour base and forecasted year end overhead and General & Administrative rates.* Support to the quarterly update of BDUK Overhead and General & Administrative rates.* Support to the month end close process, including the raising of overhead/ General & Administrative journals.* Support to Ad-Hoc projects concentrating on alignment/improvement in BDUK wide finance processes.**Within our Intern scheme you will also have the opportunity to;*** Work directly with a mentor in your field of study while finding solutions to real world problems* Experience our products and systems up close* Direct interaction with our company leaders* Build a lasting professional network* Gain the skills and knowledge to become a future leader in Boeing* Experience multiple Boeing locations around the UK* Work towards attaining professional qualification* Explore a function outside of Finance**Basic Qualifications:*** Right to work in UK - We do not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.**Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.****Preferred qualifications:*** Working towards a Finance related degree with an estimated grade of 2:1 or above preferred.* An ambition to study towards a professional qualification (eg CIMA/ACCA etc) subsequent to University.* Proactive in their approach to work and an ambition to learn more/develop themselves during their 12 month internship.* Experience with using basic Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel.* Confident in presenting data/information/ideas to more senior members of the BDUK Finance and other functional teams.* Attention to detail and an emphasis on first time quality.**Relocation:**This position does not offer relocation.
