Job description

We are delighted to be working exclusively on a Finance Director mandate with this fast paced owner managed business based in Taunton.

Hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office on average.

Having reached a sizeable turnover, the business is looking to bring finance in-house and build a team to sustain future growth.

Initially you will be tasked with putting in place the necessary systems and processes to facilitate this transition. This will include building a team to allow for the accurate production of accounts and ensuring best practice is in place. You will advise on risk and compliance and identify opportunities for cost efficiency and financial improvement.

As Finance Director, you will be a key member of the Board of Directors, working closely with the CEO and departmental leaders to provide financial leadership across the organisation.

Whilst demonstrating an appetite for being hands on, you will also be a strategic thinker with excellent business partnering skills and stakeholder management experience. You will be adept at communicating finance to non finance and be able to support the growth of the business both organically and through potential external investment.

Experience

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified Accountant with significant post-qualification experience in a senior finance role.
• Experience gained from working within an entrepreneurial and/or owner managed business.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Experience in board-level decision-making and governance.
• Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to financial management.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation.
