  • Ensure all statutory and governance obligations are met as Company Secretary.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets and financial plans with the CEO.
  • Maintain robust financial controls and reporting for accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversee regulatory and statutory returns, meeting deadlines and standards.
  • Streamline systems and processes to improve efficiency and data integrity.
  • Manage working capital, capital expenditure, investments, and pension governance.
  • Provide clear, timely financial reports and strategic advice to senior leaders and the board.
  • Support and develop team members, fostering engagement and high performance.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and other relevant legislation.

SF Recruitment is currently working with a fantastic charity in Birmingham in the recruitment of a Finance Director. The FD will lead and manage the Finance department and to have overall responsibility for treasury, accounts, management accounts, reporting of management information, financial reconciliations. This is a brilliant opportunity with a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the effective implementation and use of the organisation's new financial management system.
  • Act as Company Secretary, ensuring all statutory and governance obligations are met.
  • Work with the CEO to develop and manage annual budgets and financial plans.
  • Maintain robust financial controls and reporting to ensure accuracy, compliance, and meaningful insight.
  • Oversee regulatory and statutory returns, ensuring deadlines and standards are consistently met.
  • Streamline and automate systems and processes to improve efficiency and data integrity.
  • Manage working capital, capital expenditure, investments, and pension governance.
  • Provide clear, timely financial reports and strategic advice to senior leaders and the board.
  • Lead, support, and develop team members, fostering engagement, wellbeing, and high performance.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection, health and safety, and other relevant legislation.
