Finance Director

Cambridge | Global SaaS Business

A high-growth international SaaS business with an expanding global customer base, strong recurring revenues and an innovative technology platform is entering an exciting new phase of its lifecycle. The business is seeking an ambitious Finance Director to work closely with the CFO and wider leadership team, develop the finance function, and play an influential role in delivering its strategic ambitions ahead of a potential exit process.

The Finance Director's commercial remit is expected to broaden significantly over the next 12 months, with a view to potentially succeeding the CFO following a major transaction.

With revenues of c.£30m and established operations across the UK, US, and other international markets, the business is at an exciting stage of development, offering a Finance Director the opportunity to transform its financial infrastructure, drive operational efficiency, and build a scalable finance function capable of supporting its next phase of growth.

The role

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Finance Director will take ownership of the finance function, including financial control, reporting, finance operations, treasury and tax.

Leading and developing a finance team of approximately 15 people, the successful candidate will have the autonomy to shape the function, develop its people and strengthen international operations, with particular emphasis on supporting growth in the US.

What you'll be responsible for:

• Lead international finance operations across financial control, reporting, treasury, tax, cash management and governance.
• Drive finance transformation, modernising systems, automating processes and creating a more agile, efficient finance function.
• Strengthen revenue recognition, financial reporting and controls to support informed decision-making in a growing SaaS environment.
• Build and develop a high-performing finance team, shaping its structure and capabilities to support future growth.
• Partner with senior leadership to support the continued expansion of the US business, strengthening financial infrastructure and operational capabilities.
• Play an influential role in M&A, financial due diligence, integration and potential future corporate transactions.

This role will suit a finance leader who:

• Is a qualified accountant, ideally practice-trained, with a minimum of seven years' post-qualification finance leadership experience.
• Brings experience within software, SaaS, technology or a related services environment.
• Has strong international financial control, reporting and operational finance experience, ideally across multiple entities and currencies.
• Has successfully led finance transformation, systems improvements and organisational change.
• Combines strong technical accounting capabilities with a commercial mindset, entrepreneurial approach and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
