JHE & Partners is working with a well-respected Brighouse-based company seeking a Finance Director. The role combines day-to-day accounting with strategic business analysis and board-level influence.

The FD will partner with the MD and SLT, owning the finance function, developing financial analysis, and driving commercial decision-making for sustained growth.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience in manufacturing, engineering, distribution or international trade environments.
• Strong financial accounting and technical accounting expertise.

JHE & Partners are delighted to be working exclusively with a well-respected company in the Brighouse area as they look to recruit a Finance Director. As the company enters an exciting new period, this is an ideal time to join and influence the direction of the business.

Working closely with the MD and Senior Leadership team, the successful candidate will take ownership of the finance function, whilst playing a key role in shaping the direction of the business. This is an extremely "hands on" role. We are looking for someone who is able to handle the day-to-day accounting as well as developing and producing analysis and commercial insight to support decision making, whilst also being comfortable sitting at the board table and influencing strategic decision making.

Open to both experienced FD's as well as candidates looking to make that step up from FC/Senior Finance Manager, this role is a brilliant opportunity to join a great business with a superb reputation in a genuinely interesting sector. Key duties and responsibilities will include:

• Providing commercial insight and strategic financial guidance to the Board
• Producing monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts
• Leading budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
• Managing all aspects of financial control, compliance and taxation
• Overseeing stock valuation, manufacturing costs and product profitability
• Taking ownership of product pricing and margin analysis
• Managing relationships with external accountants, banks, insurers and professional advisers
• Maintaining accurate accounting records and overseeing month-end and year-end processes
• Managing sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control, bank reconciliations and VAT returns
• Overseeing payroll and pension administration through external providers
• Supporting HR administration and ensuring compliance with employment legislation

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) who:

• Has strong financial accounting and technical accounting expertise
• Enjoys a hands-on role and is comfortable managing day to day finance operations
• Has experience within manufacturing, engineering, distribution or international trade environments
• Possesses strong commercial awareness and business partnering skills
• Is possibly looking for their first Finance Director appointment and is ready to take on wider strategic responsibility
• Demonstrates high levels of integrity, accuracy and professionalism
