Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Finance Data Analyst to join a large corporate services finance function in the Liverpool area. You will analyse data, produce robust datasets for returns, and support senior management with timely, accurate information.

The role emphasizes advanced Excel skills (pivot tables and lookups), data reconciliation against control totals, and collaboration with audit teams. AAT/ACCA/CIMA studies are supported, with a 35-hour week and office-based two days per week.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical and analytical skills for financial data.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate and reliable datasets for returns and reporting.
• Reconcile data to control totals and investigate anomalies.
• Analyze data to identify trends and provide insights to senior management.
• Produce financial and statistical returns for internal/external stakeholders.
• Ensure capital equipment is recorded in the fixed asset register and depreciated.
• Reconcile fixed asset records with the general ledger.
• Communicate findings clearly to non-financial staff.
• Participate in projects and deliver reports to senior management.
• Liaise with internal/external audit teams.

Description

Duties and tasks of the Finance Data Analyst:

• Produce accurate and reliable robust datasets for submission of returns to external contacts
• Extra data and ensure data reconciles to control totals
• Analyse data and investigate anomalies and trends
• Produce various financial and statistical returns
• Ensure all capital equipment is recorded within the fixed asset register
• Identify and capitalise all equipment within the organisation and apply depreciation
• Reconcile fixed asset records with the general ledgerCommunicate with non financial staff and present data clearly
• Involved in projects and produce reports to senior management
• Liaise with internal and external audit

Profile

To be successful in the role you will:

• Studying, AAT, CIMA, ACA/ ACCA or similar
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to manipulate data (pivot tables, vlookups)
• Ability to analyse large volumes of data and produce reports
