With production hubs across the UK, EU, and Asia, we process hundreds of orders each month for innovative companies in aerospace, automotive, robotics, and beyond. Our team is lean, fast, and relentless in delivering operational excellence.

The Role

We’re looking for a Finance Controller to take full ownership of our day-to-day finance function. This is a hands‑on role that blends financial operations, reporting, compliance, and process improvement. You will work closely with the CEO, external accountants, and operational teams to ensure accurate, timely financials while improving systems for scale.

You will be the most senior finance person in the business, so we’re looking for someone confident in taking responsibility, but still comfortable rolling up their sleeves.

Key Responsibilities
Finance Operations
  • Own and manage the day-to-day financial operations of the business
  • Oversee accounts receivable and payable, ensuring smooth cash flow
  • Run payroll and pension submissions in coordination with HR
  • Reconcile bank transactions and maintain accurate ledgers
Reporting & Month-End Close
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
  • Ensure timely month-end close processes
  • Maintain accurate accruals, prepayments and journal entries
Compliance & Controls
  • Maintain internal financial controls and ensure compliance with HMRC, Companies House and VAT obligations
  • Coordinate with external accountants on year‑end filing and audit preparation
Financial Systems & Process Improvement
  • Optimise use of Xero and other financial tools
  • Improve processes for efficiency and accuracy as the business grows
  • Support implementation of scalable systems and reporting automation
Business Support
  • Provide clear financial data to support decision making by leadership
  • Support with budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling
  • Track departmental spend and cost centre performance
Requirements
  • Qualified or part‑qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience
  • 4+ years’ experience in finance roles with end‑to‑end ownership of transactional finance
  • Hands‑on experience with Xero (or similar), and related tools like Dext, Pleo, etc.
  • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills
  • Confident managing high transaction volumes with accuracy
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a fast‑moving, resource‑lean environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to hit deadlines consistently
Nice to Have
  • Experience in a tech startup, marketplace, or e‑commerce environment
  • Exposure to international payments, FX, or multi‑entity reporting
  • Familiarity with R&D tax credits, capitalisation of software / dev costs
