Are you a Finance Manager or Finance Controller seeking an exciting challenge within a high growth SME?

We’re supporting a fast-growing, highly acquisitive group that is looking for a Financial Controller to act as the number two to their Finance Director. With exceptional YOY growth, an ambitious leadership team, and a strong acquisition pipeline, this is a brilliant opportunity to take ownership in a scaling business.

The Opportunity

As Finance Controller, you’ll take charge of the finance function, giving the FD the space to stay strategic while you lead on day-to-day operations, month-end, reporting and controls.

You’ll work closely with the integrations team and manage a small team including Accounts Manager and AP / AR, becoming the key link that ensures finance operates smoothly as the group continues to expand.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys ownership, pace, and the chance to shape how a finance function evolves during high growth.

Key Responsibilities

Management Reporting & Month-End

• Production of accurate monthly management accounts for multiple entities / divisions
• Consolidation of results into group-level financial reporting packs
• Delivering meaningful commentary and insight for the senior leadership team

Financial Control, Governance & Compliance

• Ownership of financial controls, technical accounting policies and compliance frameworks
• Ensuring financial integrity and consistency across the group
• Leading on statutory accounts preparation, audit coordination, tax submissions and other regulatory filings
• Ensuring robust balance sheet reconciliations and month-end discipline

Cashflow, Treasury & Working Capital

• Ownership of cashflow forecasting and treasury management
• Monitoring working capital performance and driving improvements where needed

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Line management and development of the finance team
• Acting as the bridge between the FD (strategy) and operational finance (BAU)
• Working closely with the acquisitions team on integrations
• Building strong working relationships across the wider business

Your Experience

• Finance Controller level experience, ideally in an SME or professional services environment
• ACCA / CIMA / ACA qualified
• Someone comfortable taking full ownership of BAU finance
• Strong technical grounding with a good understanding of controls and compliance
• Confident consolidating financials, preparing management accounts and handling audit
• Hands‑on, methodical and proactive
