Looking for a longer-term contract?

HW Finance are supporting a large, Private Equity Backed business with the recruitment of a longer-term interim assignment to cover a period of maternity leave.

You will be working as the Interim Finance Business Partner for a period of 18 months, looking after a large business area. Salary offered is £65,000 - £70,000 plus many outstanding benefits, incl 30 days holiday + bank holidays. Based in York, onsite 2 days per week.

Primarily focusing on driving business engagement through insight into revenue and costs, improving profitability and lessening risks. You will lead on forecasting and budgeting, provide financial modelling and support the wider team with discovering M&A opportunities.

  • Collaborate closely with the leadership team to deliver actionable insights on business performance, ensuring decisions are supported by clear, timely, and accurate financial reporting.
  • Develop strong stakeholder relationships and position yourself as the go-to finance partner for your designated areas.
  • Take ownership of designated areas and drive improvements in accuracy and reporting.
  • Produce detailed and reliable budgets, forecasts, rolling projections, and multi-year strategic plans for Revenue and Gross Margin, meeting all deadlines and delivering outputs that support both Commercial leadership and FP&A objectives.
  • Enhance KPI reporting by refining current metrics and introducing new measures that align with the Commercial team’s priorities.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline and standardise processes.
  • Support the management accounts team by sharing knowledge and fostering a strong commercial perspective across finance functions.
  • Work collaboratively with the FP&A team and the wider finance department to encourage best practice and a culture of teamwork.
