Leonardo is seeking a Finance Business Partner to collaborate with functions and provide financial guidance aligned to the 5-year plan. You will prepare budgets, forecasts and timely financial reports, ensuring governance and controls across SAP and accounting standards.

The role requires strong accounting qualifications, excellent communication, and the ability to influence decisions in a matrix, multi-site environment. Hybrid working options are available in the UK.

• Support cost/benefit analysis and monitoring of improvement initiatives.
• Document and update new processes; assist with ad hoc requests.

Your impact

As a Finance Business Partner you'll be a strong collaborator working with specific functions to provide financial advice, support and guidance in order to deliver current and future finance business objectives, through the provision of financial management information.

In this role you will

• Provide advice and guidance on financial matters and queries raised by the function giving clear and concise data when needed in an efficient manner
• Work with functions to devise the financial budget and forecasts for operating costs and workload ensuring that the resources identified over the 5-year plan are appropriate and aligned to the function demand plan.
• Work with the Senior Business Partner to ensure adequate governance and controls are maintained by the function, ensuring the correct application of International Accounting Standards, Leonardo Group Directives & LHD Finance Policies. Support for internal and external audits as required.
• Provide accurate and timely reporting of functional financials to the Division giving explanations and variance analysis as required
• Provide reports and present financial performance at functional monthly business reviews to help influence appropriate decision making
• Prepare month end reports for functional operating costs and resources and intercompany revenue and margin within the P&L and Balance Sheet
• Ensure SAP maintenance is supported to maintain month end integrity. Key point of contact for functional SAP issues (WBS, production orders and hours) working closely with functions, finance teams and IT for resolution and/or raising change requests to support business transformation needs.
• Provide data to support functions cost/ benefit analysis and monitoring of improvement initiatives, resource and spend.
• Support the introduction of new processes and procedures advising functions of the financial implications of process improvements ensuring that the accounting impact is accurately reflected within the ledgers.
• Document new processes clearly and keep existing processed up to date
• Support ad hoc requests from the Financial Controller/Business as required and provide cover of other team tasks as necessary.
• Ensure awareness of the wider objectives of the Finance department and make sure all tasks are focused on timely support of the team

What you'll bring

• Recognised professional accountancy qualification, with relevant post-qualification experience appropriate to the responsibilities of the role.
• Good level of commercial awareness and the ability to liaise with project managers, commercial engineering, manufacturing and supplier organisations as necessary.
• Knowledge of manufacturing / operations environment a preference
• Excellent inter-personal and team skills, able to communicate and collaborate cross functionally and cross geographically (matrix organisation) to realise opportunities and deliver set targets.
• Ability to deal with complex financial modelling in a time pressured environment.
• Ability to manage/mitigate the potential risks & opportunities to achieve business objectives
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills essential. Knowledge of SaP/BI/PBI beneficial but not essential.
