Job description

Ascent Recruitment is delighted to be exclusively supporting a fantastic Wilmslow-based business in their search for a talented Finance Business Partner with strong analytical skills, for an initial 12-month fixed-term contract.

You’ll join a large, successful, and growing organisation, and whilst a permanent role isn’t guaranteed at the end of the term, future permanent opportunities are likely as the business continues to expand.

This is a hands‑on, challenging role suited to either a recently qualified, finalist, or part‑qualified accountant who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, managing competing priorities while delivering high‑quality financial insight.

Reporting to an excellent Financial Controller, you’ll play a key role in providing accurate, timely management information to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver accurate management information and continuously improve reporting and processes
  • Partner with operational teams to understand key financial drivers and their impact on results
  • Monitor and report on KPIs
  • Prepare and reconcile budgets
  • Support the development of effective cost control measures
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and variance tracking
About You:
  • CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualified, finalist or Part Qualified
  • Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, XLOOKUP)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience managing large data volumes
  • Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
  • Analytical and problem‑solving mindset
