Wessex Water Services is seeking a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join our growing Commercial Finance team within the Land and Property Group. This is ideal for a newly qualified accountant or early-career finance professional making their first move into business partnering.

Responsibilities

• Partner with operational stakeholders to drive performance, revenue, costs and margins.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting activities.
• Prepare MI and variance analysis.
• Support business cases, investment appraisals and scenario modelling.
• Assist in developing Finance Apprentices and strategic projects.

Job description

We are looking for a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join our growing Commercial Finance team within the Land and Property Group.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified accountant or early-career finance professional looking to make their first move into business partnering.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, you will support our Construction, Plant and Fleet, and Procurement and Design businesses.

What you'll do

You'll partner with operational stakeholders to drive business performance and profitability, providing valuable insight into revenue, costs, margins, and cash flow.

You'll also lead budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting activities, helping to support informed decision-making and ensure the business remains on track to achieve its financial objectives.

• supporting strategic projects and growth initiatives
• assisting in developing Finance Apprentices.

What you'll need

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification, or approaching qualification.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate financial information into commercial insight.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Construction, engineering, infrastructure or project-based sector experience.
• Previous experience in management accounting, commercial finance or business partnering.
• Exposure to Power BI or other reporting tools.
