Finance Business Partner – Adult Social Care – West London – £553 per day (Umbrella)

A West London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join their Adult Social Care (ASC) finance team.

Role Purpose

This role will work closely with the Service Directorate management team, providing strategic financial direction, support, and guidance to the Adult Social Care Directorate. You will play a key role in driving effective financial management, supporting budget holders, and ensuring that financial strategies align with the Council’s wider objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with senior management and budget holders within Adult Social Care, offering expert financial advice and challenge.
  • Support the Head of Finance (ASC) in delivering robust financial management across the directorate.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear insights for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Lead on financial planning, forecasting, and budget monitoring to ensure long-term sustainability.
  • Contribute to the development of the Council’s medium-term financial strategy, ensuring Adult Social Care priorities are fully represented.
  • Provide cross-cutting financial support on capital and transformation projects.
  • Manage and coordinate a service finance team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial advice and analysis.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner within Local Government, ideally in Adult Social Care.
  • Strong technical knowledge of local authority finance, including budget setting, forecasting, and monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to challenge and support senior leaders.
  • Experience managing or leading a finance team.
  • Qualified Accountant (CCAB or CIMA).
