Finance Business Partner

Annual Salary:£46,142 - £49,282
Location:Newcastle, with travel across the Northeast
Job Type:Full-time, 37 hours per week

Join my client, looking for a Finance Business Partner, where you will play a crucial role in supporting the group by providing expert financial advice and analysis. This position is based at the central head office in Newcastle and requires travel across the Northeast to support various parts of the group.

Responsibilities
  • Support the budget setting and forecasting processes.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis to budget and forecast, advising on trends that may impact budgets.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Present management accounts to Principals and Business Managers monthly.
  • Present financial information at local governing board meetings on a termly basis.
  • Support academies in achieving the best educational outcomes and value for money through curriculum-led financial planning and analysis.
  • Assist in purchasing decisions and ensure compliance with all Trust policies and public procurement regulations.
  • Manage budgets, support budget holders, and monitor individual school spending in liaison with Business Managers, Principals, and the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure internal financial controls are adhered to.
  • Support the financial and management accounting functions of the Finance team.
  • Produce financial information to Accounting Standards and in line with other regulatory bodies.
  • Manage operational workload to ensure finance service standards are met.
  • Investigate and answer routine queries from budget holders, management, and other finance colleagues, as well as external bodies.
  • Develop and maintain complex accounting spreadsheets as necessary.
