Job summary

Goodman Masson is recruiting a Finance Business Partner for our client in Greater Manchester. The role focuses on assets, repairs and maintenance, delivering proactive financial support and challenge to budget holders across the Repairs and Assets directorate.

The role is full-time, permanent with hybrid working (1–2 days in the office). You will join the Financial Reporting Team, preparing budgets, management accounts and contributing to statutory accounts and external audits.

Qualifications

• Housing sector experience is essential.
• Experience preparing and reporting management accounts and statutory accounts.
• Experience providing financial advice, support and challenge to non-finance colleagues.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex financial information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial support and advice to budget holders, translating complex financial information into clear and accessible language
• Prepare annual budgets, including profiling and phasing, and challenge new requests against efficiency plans
• Prepare timely monthly management accounts, providing insight and commentary on financial performance and variances
• Partner with budget holders to support operational decision-making, reforecasts and action plans
• Review reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, journals, payroll control accounts and other month-end activities
• Contribute to statutory accounts, year-end processes, Group consolidation and external audit requirements
• Support financial planning for the Asset Management programme and provide financial support for projects and service reviews

Education

Professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA or equivalent)

We’re working with a leading social housing organisation to support the recruitment of a Finance Business Partner – Assets, Repairs & Maintenance.
