Job description

Your new company, Hays Accountancy & Finance, is recruiting a Finance Business Partner on behalf of our client, an organization supporting individuals and families living with disabilities, autism, and brain injuries.

The role is crucial in ensuring organizational effectiveness and efficiency, compliance with reporting and regulatory requirements, and will supervise various functions within the finance department, including management accounts, variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting. Staff development and mentoring are key aspects of this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Contribute to Finance Improvement Plans for services.
  2. Assist with grant applications and claims, supporting grant and verification audits.
  3. Lead supplier contract reviews and renewals, including tender processes.
  4. Prepare and analyze monthly management accounts and variance reports.
  5. Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes.
  6. Provide project management support.
  7. Ensure compliance with statutory returns (e.g., Companies House, Charity Commission).
  8. Promote GDPR compliance and cybersecurity within the department.
  9. Line management and staff training, including staff development and mentoring.
Requirements:
  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, CIPFA, or ACCA).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a finance role within a large, diverse organization.
  • Experience in management accounts, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of ISO or other quality management systems.
Desirable:
  • Experience with grant funding, including claims and applications.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring staff.
