Job description

Finance Business Partner
Location: St Albans
Salary: 60k
Contract Type: Interim with the view to go permanent
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.00 - 5.00 and Friday 4.30 finish

We're looking for an experienced and proactive Finance Business Partner (ACCA or CIMA qualified) to play a key role in supporting the business with financial insight, project costing, and strategic decision-making.

About the Role

As the Finance Business Partner, you'll work closely with teams across the business to cost up projects, attend key meetings, and provide clear financial guidance. You'll be the go-to person for all project-related financial matters, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and commercial awareness at every stage.

You'll thrive in a role where no two days are the same - from analysing funding streams and understanding VAT implications, to advising on procurement decisions and helping teams make confident, informed choices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with operational and project teams to cost, review, and monitor projects.
  • Attend internal and external meetings to provide financial input and advice.
  • Analyse and report on funding, VAT, and other financial implications.
  • Support budget preparation, forecasting, and performance tracking.
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure value for money and compliance.
  • Act as the first point of contact for project-related finance queries.
  • Provide insight and challenge to help drive commercial performance.
About You
  • Fully qualified ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent).
  • Experience working in further education is highly desirable.
  • Strong financial acumen with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Confident communicator - able to explain finance to non-finance colleagues.
  • Approachable, friendly, and collaborative in your working style.
  • Excellent understanding of funding, VAT, and ideally procurement.
  • Comfortable working across multiple teams and managing priorities.
Why Join?

You'll be part of a supportive, forward-thinking environment where your input really makes a difference. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves working with people and numbers, and who enjoys being at the heart of projects from start to finish.
