Overview

Job Title: Finance Business Partner

Location: Portsmouth (HM Naval Base)

Service Area: Finance

Hours of Work: 37 Per week

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Core Finance function and drive performance across operations
  • Lead month-end close, balance sheet governance, and P&L analysis, delivering clear, actionable insights that shape decision-making
  • Forecasting and budgeting to ensure financial clarity and control across Service Delivery, Technical Advisory Services, and Overheads teams
  • Engage in close business partnering with operational leaders and cost centre managers to influence outcomes, challenge assumptions, and support strategic initiatives
  • Support delivery of financial clarity and control to keep maritime operations running smoothly
Qualifications
  • Strong foundation in management accounting within complex organisations
  • Experience in defence or construction services sectors preferred
  • Experience preparing and managing detailed financial transactions and communicating results clearly to non-finance stakeholders
  • High level of IT literacy, especially with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Familiarity with SAP Business One or other advanced ERP systems advantageous
  • Experience supporting statutory reporting processes and preparation of audit-ready information
