Finance Business Partner
- Location:Sutton (no parking on site but near railway station)
- Hourly rate: £21.37- £24.04 per hour PAYE OR £27.26- £30.72 per hour via an umbrella company.
- Contract Type:Temporary for 3-6 months – start beginning of November 2025
- Hours:36 (08.45am- 16.30pm -16.15pm finish on a Friday)
- Working pattern: Hybrid- 3 days in the office 2 from home
We are seeking a Finance Business Partner to join our team in the education sector. This pivotal role involves overseeing financial management within a college environment, supporting strategic and operational needs across multiple centres. Day-to-day of the role
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including monitoring income streams and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate coding and reporting of income transactions.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as MIS, admissions, and operations to support financial integrity and reporting.
- Manage funding agreements and ensure compliance with relevant contracts and documentation.
- Develop and maintain income monitoring models and forecasting tools.
- Provide financial advice and support to budget holders, identifying and resolving variances.
- Stay updated with funding policies including High Needs/SEND, 16–19, Apprenticeships, and AEB.
- Prepare costings, estimates, and financial models for strategic planning.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- AAT qualified or part/qualified CCAB (or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting, with a focus on financial management and control.
- Strong understanding of the education sector (would be ideal).
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with financial systems (e.g., Sage intact, Resource or similar).
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage own workload, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Strong customer service orientation and discretion with confidential data.
- Team player with initiative and adaptability to change.
