Finance Business Partner
  • Location:Sutton (no parking on site but near railway station)
  • Hourly rate: £21.37- £24.04 per hour PAYE OR £27.26- £30.72 per hour via an umbrella company.
  • Contract Type:Temporary for 3-6 months – start beginning of November 2025
  • Hours:36 (08.45am- 16.30pm -16.15pm finish on a Friday)
  • Working pattern: Hybrid- 3 days in the office 2 from home

We are seeking a Finance Business Partner to join our team in the education sector. This pivotal role involves overseeing financial management within a college environment, supporting strategic and operational needs across multiple centres. Day-to-day of the role
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including monitoring income streams and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate coding and reporting of income transactions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as MIS, admissions, and operations to support financial integrity and reporting.
  • Manage funding agreements and ensure compliance with relevant contracts and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain income monitoring models and forecasting tools.
  • Provide financial advice and support to budget holders, identifying and resolving variances.
  • Stay updated with funding policies including High Needs/SEND, 16–19, Apprenticeships, and AEB.
  • Prepare costings, estimates, and financial models for strategic planning.
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • AAT qualified or part/qualified CCAB (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting, with a focus on financial management and control.
  • Strong understanding of the education sector (would be ideal).
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with financial systems (e.g., Sage intact, Resource or similar).
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage own workload, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong customer service orientation and discretion with confidential data.
  • Team player with initiative and adaptability to change.
