Overview

Established nearly two centuries ago, FM is a leading mutual insurance company dedicated to property risk management and the resilience of its policyholder-owners. These owners, who share the belief that the majority of property loss is preventable, represent many of the world’s largest organizations, including one of every four Fortune 500 companies. They work with FM to better understand the hazards that can impact their business continuity to make cost‑effective risk management decisions, combining property loss prevention with insurance protection.

This position is office‑based in London, U.K. and follows a full‑time schedule. Start and stop times are flexible. Occasional travel will be required based on business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Support the EMEA business division and act as a trusted advisor on the financial performance of the Division in areas related to future state financial performance including budgeting, financial insights on market conditions, alternative business scenarios and improving the quality of internal and external financial data to drive business decision making and performance.
  • Provide broad scale, expert consultation, direction, and guidance to both functional and regional leadership to elevate business performance.
  • Drive end‑to‑end planning, budgeting, and forecasting process across the EMEA division, including all inputs and drivers within the planning tool.
  • Develop the annual plan, associated budgets, and forecasts for the EMEA division, supported by an FP&A analyst pool.
  • Own monthly management reporting and analysis process for the division.
  • Ensure business leaders understand key planning, budgeting and forecasting assumptions and drivers.
  • Prepare cost/benefit analysis, build business cases, and what‑if analyses for corporate initiatives and as needed.
  • Engage key internal stakeholders, including other FBPs and division/staff function counterparts, to keep abreast of changes in market landscape and advise on potential implications to the business.
  • Support ad hoc analysis as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in accounting or combination of equivalent work experience. Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional certification e.g. CPA, ACA, ACCA.
  • 7-10+ years of related work experience is required.
  • Finance experience at an insurance company; strategy and/or consulting role highly preferred.
  • Global work experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong strategic and execution capabilities.
  • Strong judgement and decisiveness.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of finance, business, and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to build trust through advocacy for the division’s leadership team priorities.
  • Ability to mentor FP&A analysts to enable growth toward FBP role.
  • Strong accounting/finance skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good team leadership skills and results orientation.
  • Ability to motivate others in a deadline‑driven environment and foster acceptance of change.
  • Proficiency with financial systems and standard software applications (proficiency in Anaplan and PowerBI preferred).
