Creative Artists Agency (CAA) is seeking a publishing accounting professional to manage day-to-day accounting for publishing clients in a fast-paced environment. The role focuses on cash matching, journal postings, and remitter statements, while ensuring accuracy across multi-currency transactions.

You will collaborate with agents and publishers, handle deposits, and support system/process improvements within the Publishing Accounts team.

Qualifications

  • Proficient with Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Match and apply cash receipts to booking lines on reports.
  • Prepare payment journals for review.
  • Prepare booking lines/remitter deductions for posting.
  • Prepare and review remitter statements for posting.
  • Upload client payments to the banking portal for Trust Supervisor approval.
  • Review UK Publications & Translation contracts, schedules and settlements.
  • Track and allocate deposits.
  • Update foreign tax log and prepare forms.
  • Support tasks to aid Publishing Accounts team.
  • Coordinate with other Trust Accounting teams and escalate issues as needed.

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a professional to strengthen the Publishing Accounting team. This position will be focused on various accounting tasks and will be responsible for providing accurate, timely accounting information to assist in day-to-day processes for Publishing clients. This is a perfect opportunity for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced accounting environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Match and apply cash receipts to payment lines on booking reports (i.e. cash receipt.
  • Preparation of payment journals for review.
  • Preparation of booking lines / remitter deductions for payment journal posting.
  • Preparing and reviewing remitter statements for payment journal posting.
  • Uploading client payments to the banking portal for approval by Trust Supervisor.
  • Reviewing UK Publications & Translation contracts, schedules and settlements.
  • Tracking and allocating deposits.
  • Updating and tracking of foreign tax log, and preparation of forms.
  • Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the Publishing Accounts team.
  • Work with team members to resolve held funds or other Trust accounting issues as needed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate activities with the other Trust Accounting teams.
  • Escalate issues, as needed, to the Trust Supervisor or the Financial Controller.
  • Support system and process improvement projects.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
  • Previous experience in a similar role would be preferred.
  • Good basic knowledge and experience of accounting and multi-currency transactions.
  • Experience with Excel and Outlook.
  • Conscientious worker with high attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Friendly and personable manner and able to liaise with confidence in dealings with Agents and Publishers.
  • Ability to work under multiple tight deadlines and prioritise effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills when dealing with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to be a team player with a conscientious and motivated attitude.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to develop business relationships with individuals globally, at all levels.
  • Ability to remain highly discreet with personal and confidential information.
