About the Role

MEL Environmental Solutions Limited remediates kerosene spills at domestic properties in the UK, primarily serving the Financial and Insurance sectors. MEL is part of the Adler and Allan Group, acquired in October 2024, and operates within the Consultancy section of the Environmental Services Division. Adler and Allan provide businesses with comprehensive environmental and infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Over the course of the 12‑month Apprenticeship the candidate will provide support for each ledger.
  • Purchase ledger support: process purchase invoices in Docuware, enter them into SAGE 200, reconcile supplier statements, and assist with supplier payments.
  • Sales ledger support: process sales invoices in SAGE 200, code to the correct nominal account, and assist with debtor statement preparation.
  • Nominal ledger support: post nominal cash entries, conduct daily bank reconciliations, and support the month‑end close process.
  • Other tasks: prepare weekly project manager timesheets using RAM Assist.

Training and Progression

Delivery will be completed on‑site, with off‑the‑job training either at Barnsley College or at your place of work. The student will complete a Level‑2 Accounts/Finance Assistant Apprenticeship.

After successful completion of the Apprenticeship there is the possibility of progressing to a Level‑3 Apprenticeship and pursuing professional qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA, or ACA. Opportunities exist not only at MEL but across the wider Adler and Allan Group.

Monday to Friday 9am‑5pm.
