Job summary

Hargreaves Land Limited in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Finance Assistant to join our Finance team. Hybrid working and a clear path to develop across multiple finance areas are provided.

You will support day-to-day financial operations, maintain strong controls, and assist with cash flow and reporting. The role reports to the Management Accountant and offers exposure to month-end activities, invoicing, and process improvements in a busy, supportive team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a finance function.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, processes and procedures.
• Experience across different areas of a finance team.
• Experience using accounting software and month-end reconciliations.
• Experience preparing or assisting with month-end accounts.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Management Accountant and wider Finance team with a range of financial and administrative activities.
• Preparing and maintaining bank reconciliations.
• Managing sales administration activities, including raising internal and external invoices and producing debtor reports.
• Assisting with month-end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations, accounts preparation and financial analysis.
• Carrying out ad hoc reconciliations and investigations as required.
• Supporting the purchase ledger function, including payment processing and resolving supplier queries.
• Ensuring financial transactions are accurately coded, recorded and maintained.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and procedures.
