Job summary

Car Finance 247 is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our Manchester headquarters, onsite. The role focuses on payment processing, ledger management, reconciliations and month-end reporting within a busy finance function.

You will work closely with the Finance Manager and team to ensure accurate records, strong controls and timely financial information. The role offers development towards accounting qualifications and exposure to the wider business.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accounts assistant/finance role.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Experience with financial data and maintaining accurate records.
• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent Excel skills.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive and able to work independently.
• Interest in pursuing accounting qualifications (AAT/ACCA/CIMA).
• Experience handling high-volume transactions and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Process, allocate and reconcile batch payments accurately and efficiently.
• Record and post financial transactions to the ledger with precision.
• Maintain accurate records and support financial reporting.
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure funds are received from lenders and customer products are set up accurately.
• Support month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations.
