An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join a successful and ambitious group of businesses at an exciting stage of growth.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Director, you'll support the day-to-day finance function while assisting with the continued development of financial processes across the Group.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Processing purchase ledger invoices and supplier reconciliations
• Managing sales ledger and supporting credit control activities
• Bank reconciliations and cash postings
• Preparing payment runs
• Processing employee expenses
• Assisting with month-end close, including journals, accruals and prepayments
• Supporting VAT returns and statutory reporting requirements
• Producing financial reports and analysis
• Maintaining accurate financial records across multiple entities
• Supporting continuous improvement projects within the finance function
• Providing wider finance support as the business continues to grow

About You

We're looking for an organised and motivated finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to build a long-term career.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant position
• A solid understanding of transactional finance
• Strong reconciliation skills and excellent attention to detail
• Good Microsoft Excel skills
• A proactive approach with the confidence to take ownership of your work
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Experience working within an SME or multi-entity environment would be advantageous, although not essential.
• Candidates studying towards AAT or an accountancy qualification are encouraged to apply.
