Job summary

Pertemps Bristol Commercial is seeking a Finance Assistant in Wick on a permanent, full-time basis. The role offers £27,000–£30,000 depending on experience and a Monday–Friday, 8-hour shift with flexible start times (8:00, 8:30 or 9:00).

Ideal candidates have around two years’ finance experience or fewer, with responsibilities including processing high volumes of invoices and ensuring accuracy in a fast-paced environment. On-site role with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Around two years’ finance experience or less, ideally.
• Experience processing high volumes of invoices or similar data.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work efficiently and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive approach and the ability to get up to speed quickly.
• Experience using Xero or similar accounting software is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage sales and purchase ledgers.
• Raise customer invoices and process supplier payments.
• Process staff expenses, remittances and direct debits.
• Reconcile bank transactions and monitor cash flow.
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable, resolving discrepancies.
• Assist with VAT returns and general finance administration.
• Support month-end and year-end processes.
• Assist with ad-hoc finance projects as required.
