Job summary

A leading health services provider in Brighton is seeking a Finance Assistant to support the credit control team by managing debtor accounts and ensuring timely payments. The ideal candidate will have experience in finance, proficiency with systems such as Sage, and strong communication skills. This is a hybrid role requiring in-office attendance three days a week. Role Outline

As a Finance Assistant in the Credit Control department you will play a key role in supporting our credit control team with the management of debtor accounts ensuring timely payments and minimising financial risk to the company. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records following up on outstanding invoices and providing administrative support to the credit control function.

You will handle data input for both purchase and sales ledgers reconcile payments and ensure clients are billed accurately in line with their contracts. This role requires excellent organisational skills strong communication abilities and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities.

This position is a 6 month fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Raising invoices credit notes and issuing statement
  • Dealing with multi-invoices for large clients with multiple divisions
  • Understanding different client contracts and ensuring that clients are billed in accordance with the contract
  • Liaise with other teams and account managers to ensure smooth workflow across all areas and to provide assistance where necessary
  • Enter reconcile and post cash receipts into the appropriate financial system daily
  • Conduct research on-account payments received and contact customers accordingly including suspense accounts
  • Respond to questions and issues relating to Accountant Receivable
  • Print daily invoices monthly statements and ad hoc copy invoice requests
  • Process customer billing respond to customer requests and update balances in the accounting system
What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a finance team and be familiar with finance systems such as Sage or SAP Concur. Proficiency in Excel and strong problem-solving skills are essential along with the ability to communicate effectively and adapt to change. Experience working across multiple finance departments is desirable but not essential. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to contribute to a busy and evolving finance team.

Hours

The hours for this role is 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 5pm.

Location

This role is a hybrid position. You will be expected to attend our head office in Brighton 3 days a week whilst working the remaining two days from home.

Salary

The salary for this role is between 25K and 27K depending on qualifications and experience.
