An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join our Accounts Receivable team based in Plymouth. This full-time role offers a hybrid working modelfollowing successful completion of initial trainingallowing a blend of office and home-based work in line with our company policy and operational requirements.

As part of the Accounts Receivable team you will play a key role in delivering a professional and efficient service to both internal and external customers of National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED).

What Youll Do :
  • Processing of payments including bacs credit / debit cards cheques direct debits.
  • Processing refunds for a range of reasons such as duplicate payments work cancelled payment made in error etc.
  • Matching and allocating of debits / credits in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Investigating and resolution of suspense items on a daily basis.
  • Highlighting and resolving issues associated with fraudulent activity.
  • Upload files and manage data interfaces between systems including error resolution.
  • Understanding of the debtor ledger entries daily and month end reconciliations.
  • Prioritise workload effectively to meet daily and monthly targets in a high-volume environment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external customers to resolve outstanding queries and ensure service excellence.
What Youll Have :
  • AAT qualified or working towards (desirable) with previous experience in a high-volume finance or accounts receivable environment.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to manage customer relationships professionally.
  • Confident self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Excel; experience with finance systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of accounts receivable processes and awareness of relevant HMRC or statutory regulations is desirable.
  • A collaborative mindset is essential as teamwork plays a key role in meeting shared goals and maintaining service excellence.

What Youll Get :

Up to 35283 depending on experience.

As well as your base salary you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.

Further Information :

This is a hybrid working role from our Plymouth office and wed hope to see you in the office full-time to complete your training.
