Job description

St Sebastian's Church of England Primary School is looking for a self-motivated and hardworking Finance Assistant to provide high quality financial support to the school, under the direction of the Headteacher, and with support from the central finance team. The Keys Academy Trust is a primary specialist Multi Academy Trust with 13 schools in the Wokingham and Bracknell areas. It is a limited company by guarantee and prepares accounts in accordance with FRS102, the Academies Accounts Direction, the Charities Act and the Companies Act.

The role will involve:
  • Overseeing and reconciling the school's bank account, including monitoring of income received and money spent.
  • Ensuring the effective operation of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions for the school. Ensuring all purchases are within budget. Processing BACS payments.
  • Processing timesheets and absences for the school.
  • Checking and reconciling the payroll each month.
  • Supervising the collection of debt in line with the school's financial procedures.
  • Liaising with suppliers to resolve ad-hoc queries.
  • Attending TKAT Finance and Operations team meetings.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience working within a finance function of a school.
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of accounting and budgeting packages.
  • Strong IT skills including Excel and Office 365.
  • Tact, diplomacy, confidentiality and sensitivity are paramount to this post.
