Job summary

A local recruitment agency is seeking a Finance Assistant to join a well-established business in Walsall on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing invoices and preparing management accounts while ensuring strong relationships with suppliers. Ideal applicants should be AAT qualified or possess relevant experience and exhibit strong numerical and analytical skills. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a supportive finance department.

Qualifications

  • AAT qualified or equivalent experience required.
  • Key understanding of accounting principles essential.

Responsibilities

  • Process invoices and maintain financial records.
  • Assist in preparing monthly management accounts.
  • Prepare sales invoices and manage aged creditors.
  • Prepare payment runs for suppliers.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations.
  • Support management reporting and financial statements.
  • Handle supplier queries and maintain relationships.
  • Provide general administrative support for finance team.

RM Recruit are delighted to be working in partnership with a brilliant business based in Walsall who are actively seeking a full-time, Finance Assistant to join their team on a 3-month temporary basis. This role is based onsite in Monday-Friday with hours of work set between 8.30am 5.30pm.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to contribute to a busy and supportive finance department within a well-established organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Processing invoices and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Prepare sales invoices and manage aged creditors
  • Prepare payment runs for suppliers
  • Assisting with bank reconciliations and month-end procedures
  • Supporting the preparation of management reports and financial statements
  • Handling supplier queries and maintaining strong relationships
  • Providing general administrative support to the finance team as required
Requirements
  • AAT qualified or qualified by experience.
  • A key understanding of accounting principles
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
