Job summary

The Wrekin Housing Group Limited is seeking a detail-focused Finance Assistant to join our expanding Finance team in Telford. You will support the team with purchase invoices, payments, and general financial administration, ensuring processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Candidates should have 5 GCSEs including Maths and English, strong numerical abilities, and excellent customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade A*-C/4+ including Maths and English.
  • Experience working in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills, with Excel pivot tables and lookups.
  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer service and resolving issues.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

We're looking for a detail-focused and enthusiastic FinanceAssistant to join our expanding Finance team. If you enjoy working with numbers, thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in delivering excellent customer service, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build your finance career within a supportive team, where you'll play a key role as a Finance Assistant in ensuring our financial processes run smoothly and efficiently. Working closely with the Senior Finance Assistant, you'll support a range of finance activities, including:

  • Processing purchase invoices through our finance system and preparing payments in line with financial deadlines and best practice.
  • Supporting the wider Finance team by gathering and providing information from finance systems for audits, budgets and period-end processes.
  • Assisting with general finance administration and helping to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Building positive relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers to provide excellent customer service and resolve queries efficiently.
What we're looking for:

We're looking for a Finance Assistant who is organised, accurate and motivated, with a passion for delivering high-quality work.

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade A*-C / Grade 4 or above (or Functional Skills Level 2 equivalent), including Maths and English.
  • Experience working in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills, including strong working knowledge of Excel, particularly pivot tables and lookups.
  • A commitment to delivering excellent customer service and resolving issues effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
  • A self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic approach, with a focus on delivering results.
